Sale and New Shipment Coming!

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Huge SALE begins Saturday for one week only to make room for our new shipment from abroad PLUS the Sigourney Cheek Estate from Nashville, TN and two prominent local estates.  Sigourney was a great collector, founder of the Nashville Antiques and Garden Show benefitting historic Cheekwood House and Gardens (yes that Cheek), and a dear friend and colleague to hundreds of dealers across America.  Our offerings range from a Country French Commode from her front hall to a vast collection of Old Sheffield Plate, Georgian sterling silver, Irish silver, American coin and sterling silver–much armorial–to her copper mold collection and her wonderful early (1780 to 1830) Staffordshire figures collection, as well as her Victorian Staffordshire Dogs collection.  The North Carolina collections include a Hepplewhite sideboard from Eng and Chang Bunker, the famous Siamese twins who settled near Mt. Airy about 1839–this original North Carolina piece is a gem!

Watch over the next few days for exciting postings and pictures featuring sale items and the new arrivals!

Lexington ShowOpens

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

The newly expanded and excitingly relocated Blue Grass Trust Antiques and Garden Show opened this evening in the wonderful Kentucky Horse Park Arena.  With antiques and gardens filling the main upper circle and ballrooms, with an antique and vintage car show in the arena, it is quite a visual feast!  And arriving at the facility on hundreds of rolling blue grass covered fields filled with frolicking horses and colts is unbeatable, yet it is only a half mile off I-75 and 2 miles north of I-64–simply amazing!

Antiques in Alexandria was founded in 1996 by Alexandrians who wished to: have exquisite antiques readily available for purchase; further a deep appreciation for antiques; and raise funds to help their community. Every year since, over 100 volunteers have helped plan and produce a show with nationally known exhibitors from across the country featuring a wide array of fine American, English, Oriental and Continental furniture, silver, porcelain, rugs, paintings, jewelry, clocks, folk art, garden furniture, and other decorative arts.
