Bessie belonged to Bettine Field, daughter of Marshall Field and bequeathed to her dear friend Wayne Goodall. Catalog Home "SS North Star" steam yacht under British Flag watercolor and gouache. Unsigned. Period frame: 13" x 25" by sight. Inscription: "28 May 1899, Presented to my wife A. ? for her Birthday present, SS North Star, R.L. Davis." Steam yachts had 2 propulsion systems as seen here with 3 masts and steam driven screw propeller. The last owner found that she built in 1889 and sank in Lake Erie in 1908.
