Wco-2314: Ship Diorama, 19th c.:
A wonderfully charming Folk Art Ship Diorama, English, 3rd quarter 19th century. Particularly nice that is can hang or rest on a surface. The ship, the "Lizzie", 1860, complete with crew, headed towards the "Eddy Stone Light House" & followed by a single masted skiff.

Born in Carcasson in 1877, he died in Angles sur L'Anglin near Vienne in 1944. He married Louis Pope in 1916. He had an extended and successful career as an artist from his first showing at the Salon des Artistes Independants in 1914 into the 1940's. His village scenes in oil are his true glory but he is world renowned for his important work in Algeria from 1918-1940. $5,000
